Notes from a strategy workshop...
Hi-
I’ve been doing some thinking on the format of the Sunday email for a few weeks now that builds around how I deliver strategy for folks.
There will be a mix of the normal note with a few links and some action items.
I’m still working on the final details and I won’t change this up until after Labor Day. But if I’m inconsistent lately it is due to this.
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled email.
Yesterday, I did a board retreat type session that was meant to help this organization get on the same page around the direction that the organization wanted to head in.
Great stuff right?
Anyway, as I was laying out the session, I got to thinking about how to help folks see strategy differently and jotted down a few ideas that I will share with you this morning:
Define: “What success will look like?”
Strategy isn’t about perfection but progress.
Strategy begins with the customers.
Strategy isn’t about planning.
Strategy is about the flexibility to take action.
Strategy isn’t an isolated practice.
For you, you can spend a few moments thinking about this over the next week or two and jotting down some of the ideas that come to mind.
When you combine this with the CFA framework, you can see where progress can come pretty quickly.
What do you think?
