The Big Idea: Progress not perfection.
Dave’s Take: As we head into the final newsletter of the year, I want to give y’all something to think on heading into the holidays and hanging out before 2023…focus on progress, not perfection.
What does that mean?
I’ll throw out a few cliches for you to think about:
“Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
“When you get to 80%, go.”
All of these share the kernel that most of the time procrastination is the thing holding us back.
When I host “The Whiteboard Workshop”, I always close out the day by having folks commit to 3 actions that they are going to take immediately when we are done.
They don’t have to be big.
They just need to get done.
That’s the same with the 90 day goals we set and the 30 day check-ins. I want you to move forward, perfect isn’t necessary.
Happy Holidays!
